Adult Education—Adult education class is held in the church between the two Masses on Sundays at 9:15am til 10:15am. Topics include analysis of the Creed, Sacramental Theology, Catholic Morality, and a study of Sacred Scripture and Tradition. Currently we are very blessed to have adult education taught by a third year theology student at Mount Saint Mary's Seminary. Adult education class is not part of the Parish RCIA Program and is open to all adults.
Religious Education Program (CCD)—Religious instruction is provided by the parish for Pre-school through High School age children. Classes are held from September through April on Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. for grades 1 to 12 and from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. for pre-school ages. Registration information can be obtained through the Parish office.
Religious Education Teacher Training—Parish religion teacher training is outlined by the Diocese of Harrisburg. Opportunities for training are offered locally either at St. Andrew or neighboring parishes as well as Diocesan sponsored workshops and retreats.
Sacramental Preparation—The Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist are first received in the second grade. Confirmation is conferred in the spring of eighth grade. As per diocesan regulations, these Sacraments require a two-year preparation period. Students must be enrolled either in Saint Andrew School or the Parish Religious Education Program (CCD) and maintain regular attendance in order to receive the sacraments.
